  data cleaning process
Posted by: neeraja.pattathil@bdb.ai - 12-20-2022, 12:58 PM - Forum: BDB Data Pipeline Q & A - No Replies

How can we do data transformation, data cleaning, and data hashing without using any script or code in the pipeline?

We can do the transformation from the data preparation module and can use 'Dataprep Script Runner' component from the transformation in the pipeline.

  Geo Fencing in Vehicle Tracking
Posted by: - 10-15-2019, 05:20 AM - Forum: BDB Designer Q & A - Replies (1)

we are trying to create Geo fencing for a vehicle. Like when a vehicle goes beyond some boundaries then a notification should be sent that vehicle is crossing the zone.

This use case we are trying to implement using the Designer dashboard(map chart). Please look into this and let us know whether this can be done in Designer dashboard or not.

If we are able to implement this use case in the designer board then please share us the related docs / inputs about it.

Use Case:
Create a Date Range using Date Picker.

Issue:
We are trying to create the conditions in the Designer board under the Data Service. But we couldn't find any option to create the CONDITION for the specific Field Set. For reference please check the attachment and let us know the steps to resolve it.

    ----------------------------

  3. Select geometry type from the available type.[fig-4].
    • Marker: Put a pin marker on given Latitude and Longitude, marker color can be configured by various color ranges.
    • Cluster: Show aggregated count of number of markers in region. Zoom-into the map for detailed information of marker placement. Color of markers can be configured based on avg of aggregated markers.
    • Polygon: a geo-JSON file is required to draw outline for regions which have region-id for each block. region can be filled with gradient or solid color based on the data value for the region.
    • Line: Latitude and Longitude for Start and Stop location are required to draw a line in between those points, color of lines can be configured based on the data values.
    • Trail: It will display first and last marker by joining in-between points with line. can be used to trace movement of objects.

  4. ----------------------------
  5. Marker, Clustered and Trail type of map requires Latitude and longitude points as mandatory fields in the data. configure the dataset and select column type as latitude and longitude from data set property panel. [fig-5]

    .png   fig-5.png (Size: 111.55 KB / Downloads: 24)

    ----------------------------

  6. Line and Polygon type of map requires shape-file for rendering the layers. use the Platform Administration module to configure and upload them with Geo JSON information [fig-6]. configure the dataset and select column type as None from data set property panel. [fig-7]. Write script to import this geo-json in dashboard [fig-8].

    .png   fig-6.png (Size: 35.93 KB / Downloads: 24)
    .png   fig-7.png (Size: 99.54 KB / Downloads: 24)
    .png   fig-8.png (Size: 43.98 KB / Downloads: 24)

    ----------------------------

  7. Color options: Available under General Properties section.
    • Dynamic Range: Automatically finds the min and max from available dataset and generate a gradient from the given colors.
    • Static Range: User can choose the range and set colors for the ranges. This will create  gradient for the given ranges.
    • Random Color: Color of the regions will be filled randomly every time map redraws.
  8. ----------------------------
  9. Sample dashboard screen with above configurations [fig-9].

  BDB Lite Installation Video
Posted by: admin - 06-05-2019, 01:19 PM - Forum: BDB Lite - Installation - No Replies

BDB Lite is a mini version of BDB visualization solution which can be installed on a standalone 64 Bit Windows machine. Users can do dashboard creations using RDBMS connectors, Mini Data store creations (5Lakh to 10 lakh) for visualizing into a business story and also can use BDB search over the created data stores.

Prerequisites

  • JDK 8 or Higher (64 Bit)
  • Windows 64 bit OS (Windows 7 or higher)
  • Min. 4 Core CPU
  • Min. 8 GB Ram
  • Min 15 GB free space in C drive (If you have more free space in the system drive, the launch time of the software will be better)
  • Internet connectivity is required for BDB Lite during Installation. make sure you are connected to the web during installation.
  • Internet connectivity is not required for relaunching the app once it is installed.
  • Internet will be required only if you are connecting to any external data sources for dataset or datastore creations. Once data store is created it won't need the internet to create business stories on top of the created store, as the data is already in the embedded elastic server running in your machine.

Note:- The launch time of BDB Lite is dependant on the resource availability on the machine, basically the RAM, CPU and the free space in the system drive (C drive). The starting process of BDB Lite includes starting up Tomcat services, Karaf, AMQ, Python, Elastic etc, which needs some free resources. Once BDB lite services/process are completely up in your machine, it will launch the login window into your default browser.

Current BDB lite version available for you doesn't need the Java home variable creation mentioned in the above installation video. The application will autodetect the java path in your machine and will create the environment variable itself. Updated installation video will be posted soon.
